Head coach Tommy Tuberville grabbed the headset off of graduate assistant, Kevin Oliver in the third quarter after referees called illegal formation on the Raiders.
After the game coach said "I reached to grab him and pull him off...I missed his shirt and grabbed his microphone."
Today Tuberville didn't mention pulling the assistant off the field but he did say he was reacting to the call in the heat of the moment.
"After watching the film, when I got home, it was obvious what people were upset about," said Tuberville.
"It was obvious, I reached up and grabbed his headset and pulled on it, heat of the battle, some things happen sometimes that you'd like to take back."
Some Raider fans say his actions were inappropriate as a leader of the university, others say its just part of the game.
"I was disappointed because i expect a leader in our school, like Tommy Tuberville, even in times of crisis when things aren't going (well) to keep your composure because people see that and it reflects upon tech and it reflects upon its students."
"I didn't think it was that big of a deal."
