A few weeks ago we brought you a story about the Salvation Army teaching young children the meaning of giving.

Well today it was time to see if that lesson worked.

This morning the kindergarteners at Southcrest Christian School helped load the Salvation Army truck with the toys and clothes they have been collecting for the last few weeks.

Case worker Robin Mullins said she was surprised with how much the children gave.

"Not only did they fill up the box but it was all down the aisle chairs," Mullins said. "They gave clothing donations, toy donations; there were a lot of books and schools supplies. I was really excited to see the books, that is something that we don't' currently have available for the kids in our facility."
