Lubbock Gamers Brave Cold for Latest Call of Duty

LUBBOCK Local video game fans did not let the chill slow them down, as they lined up in front of the Gamestop on South University Avenue, Monday.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 went on sale officially at midnight Tuesday morning.

The first people in line at that store got there at 7 a.m. Monday morning.

Call of Duty is the most successful video game franchise on the market today.

The game is rated m for mature- you have to be 17 years old to buy the game, without a parent.

Fans say the game is definitely worth the wait, and not even the West Texas weather could slow gamers down.

"It was seven o'clock in the morning, it was coooold. We didn't care, we wanted to be first in line," said the first person in line.

The last game, Modern Warfare 3, set a single-day sales record- wtih 6.5 million units sold- in its first 24 hours of release.

It went on to earn a massive $775 million in sales, through the game's first five days of availability.
