City Issues Wrong Number For Abandoned Car Citations

"I've been trying to get it resolved on my own and the number the city lists on that tag has been busy ever since this incident occurred."
Jasandra Sheppard's left with no car and a city citation.
"I had even gotten the parts and set them inside the car because we were going to have it taken to the shop and all of this happened before I could get any of that done," said Sheppard.
She called Lubbock Wrecker to tow her car back to her house so she could fix it.
She asked the driver to put it in her driveway, but he said he couldn't and left it in the street.
"He could have easily gone around in a "U" and backed my car into my yard," Sheppard said.
But he didn't and Lubbock police towed her car to an impound lot.
"I would like for my car to be brought back to me with out me having to pay," she said, "because the guy insured me my car was fine where it was."
Before she could get her car, though, she had to find it.
That was hard because the number on the city's citation didn't work.
We called the same city number listed on the citation as Sheppard and got the same busy signal.
The city tells us LPD must have found old stickers with an old number causing a busy signal to stand between Sheppard getting her car back.
"Had they put it in my drive way it would be in my drive way, my uncle and them could have pushed it into my garage and it would still be there."
If your dealing with the same problem as Sheppard the city says the new number is 775-2802.
As for Sheppard, Lubbock Wrecker said she doesn't owe them anything, but she does have to pay the city fine before she gets her car.
