Lubbock, TX (Sports Network) - Graham Harrell completed 43-of-58 passes for 536 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, as the 12th-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders opened the season with a 49-24 triumph over the Eagles of Eastern Washington.
Eric Morris and Detron Lewis each had nine receptions for 164 and 163 yards, respectively, for the Red Raiders (1-0), who are coming off a 9-4 mark last season that included a Gator Bowl victory over Virginia. Michael Crabtree added nine catches for 73 yards, including a touchdown. Shannon Woods rushed for 37 yards and two touchdowns.
Texas Tech, which has won its last nine season openers at home dating back to a loss to Oklahoma in 1992, was facing Eastern Washington for the first time.
Matt Nichols threw for 335 yards on 36-of-61 passing with a touchdown and three costly interceptions for the Eagles (0-1). Tony Davis hauled in a game- high 13 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown.
