Eddie Owens is the Director of Communications and Public Relations for United Supermarkets and he said there is a job for everyone at the new store.

"We've got positions open throughout the store. Clerks in every department, stockers, night stockers, bakers, cooks, just about everything you can imagine in a new store."

United Supermarkets is building a Market Street store at 19th & Quaker opening this January and they are filling the open positions through a job fair.

"I think the main thing is to get a central location where everyone can come and get the process taken care of in a fairy short amount of time and certainly in advance of our new store opening."

You can fill out an application online or fill out one at the job fair, and then it's just a short wait until your interview.

"This is actually a three week job fair. This week will be the first round of interviews and we'll start calling folks back next week and the following week and we will actually be extending job offers during the job fair and the following two weeks."

The store opening is good for business but also good for people struggling to find jobs in a bad economy.

"It will employ approximately 400 people. We'll be hiring 150 to 200 people during the next three weeks. So it's going to be a big store and lots of new jobs in Lubbock as a result."
