Mary Lee Porter is hoping for a win but won't be surprised if she loses.

"Maybe I'll get lucky. We'll see."

You would have to be very lucky to get the winning numbers with the odds at 1 in 175 million. The Powerball jackpot went up to half a billion dollars Tuesday after a big surge in ticket sales.

"I would love to especially win and if I did I think I would help my family out and myself out. It is the Christmas holidays and all so I'd like to give to other people."

Joe Amburn filled up his gas tank at 7-Eleven and when he saw what the jackpot was worth decided to buy 10 tickets.

"I heard that the jackpot was huge and it would be drawing on Wednesday...so I thought, eh, why not give it a shot?"

You can have random numbers drawn for you with a quick pick but you can also use your own lucky numbers.

"I might sit down now and think about doing one quick pick and then go ahead and choose some good numbers."

Although the chances are very slim that he will win Joe Amburn already knows what he will do with his winnings.

"Anything I want...Could be an airplane, motor home, and travel. And then share it probably."
