Lubbock Police responded to a stabbing call in the 3000 block of 35th Street around 4 Wednesday afternoon. LPD said 32 year old David Martinez died at UMC after being stabbed in the neck.

Police confirmed just before 9 p.m. Joshua Bulls, 35, has been arrested and charged with murder.  Police have not released any information on what led to the stabbing.

"She just kept saying over and over 'it was her friend, it was her friend' and she really wasn't coherent. she was shaking and we were just trying to comfort her," said Jane Bridwell.

Bridwell and her mother said they comforted a woman who was sitting on the porch of the home where the stabbing took place, at 3004 35th Street.

According to LPD, Bulls stabbed Martinez in the neck, and then both fled to the street.  The trail of blood stretched for several blocks, resulting in multiple blocks being blocked off Wednesday afternoon.

LPD said they are continuing the investigation.
