With the Red Raider basketball team still a few days away from their big showdown with the number 9 Arizona Wildcats, and Texas Tech football team still awaiting their bowl fate. High school basketball and the Gene Messer Shootout take center stage here in the Hub City.

The annual tournament is in its 19th year, and invites 16 teams from all over the state of Texas and even a team from New Mexico to mix it up on the hardwood and get some good early season competition. This year's field includes 5 playoff teams and 5 past champions. And the local coaches are exited to have such a good Tournament right in their backyard.
