It was a
busy day of basketball today for our area teams at the Gene Messer shootout.
The Coronado Mustangs, one of the
favorites coming in, took on ElPaso Chapin on Thursday night.
In the 1st quarter Brennon Smith,
misses from three But got his own rebound and put it back up for 2, Part of a
6-0 run to start for Coronado.
Chapin would stop the bleeding
though with a Talon Montoya three ball.
But that would only be momentary,
Because a little bit later on the fast break, Devondric Meadows got a three
point play stretching the lead to 7.
And the Mustangs would go on to win it by a final of 80-60 and they will play Cleveland, New Mexico tomorrow at 2:30.
