John Sigle of the Texas Boys Ranch is thrilled to be working with the Overton Hotel.

"This may be the biggest thing that a business has ever done for the Texas Boys Ranch as far as helping us to help the kids."

The Overton Hotel built an 8 foot tall gingerbread house for their lobby benefiting the Texas Boys Ranch but Executive Chef Patrick Tarantino was skeptical about the idea at first.

"You're crazy...We said, first of all, we said how big, and they said big! And so, we said how big again and they said you can fit a child in it."

The plans began in July for the giant gingerbread house and the Overton Hotel's Marcie Reno wanted it to be beautiful but also helpful.

"If we're going to build this gingerbread house it need to go to a good cause. Immediately, all of us thought it needs to go to the Texas Boys Ranch."

You can come see the gingerbread house in the Overton lobby and help the Texas Boys Ranch by donating 5 dollars for a gingerbread man ornament. Or you can buy a piece of pumpkin cheesecake or a specialty cocktail in the lounge with the proceeds going to some very grateful young boys.

"The kids came over and we loaded them, up with frosting and gum drops and they just went crazy. They thought it was so cool that they could be a part of it and we really wanted them to be a part of it."
