One Dead in Yoakum County Shooting

From the Yoakum County Sheriff's Office:

On the night of December 5, 2012 at approximately 8:51 PM a 911 call was received reporting an altercation with gun shots fired and having one individual shot at an address on Chisholm Trail, east of Denver City, Texas.

Officers of the Yoakum County Sheriffs Office responded and were assisted by officers from the Denver City Police Dept.

The Denver City EMS ambulance was called and responded to the incident. One male subject was transported to the Yoakum County Hospital in Denver City.

Male subject was pronounced deceased at the hospital by local doctor in attendance. Deceased was identified as Kenneth Krauter, a 46 year old white male.

No one has been arrested at this time but all parties to the altercation have been identified and a criminal investigation is on-going.

The Texas Rangers were notified as well as the Yoakum County Criminal District Attorneys Office and Investigator and are involved in the on-going investigation.

Further developments will be reported later as well as final results of the investigation.
