Plainview City Manager Violates Policy, Refuses to Say Why

By: Nick Ochsner
Updated: December 12, 2012
Plainview City Manager Greg Ingham is violating city policy by allowing Cpt. Derrick McPherson, who was indicted on felony assault charges last month, to keep working.

McPherson has been indicted by a Hale County grand jury for assaulting another police officer while the two were on duty in June.

Ingham confirmed that McPherson would not be placed on administrative leave, as called for by the Plainview Police Department's conduct policies.

Instead, McPherson will continue working for the city but has now moved to the city's finance office. It is not clear what duties McPherson is performing or whether or not he still has his badge and gun.

When KAMC tried to ask Ingham about his decision after Tuesday night's Plainview City Council meeting, Ingham refused to answer any questions and tried to walk away from our cameras.
