Both fans and management at Nick's Sports Bar excited about Tech's new coach.

"Honestly I was pumped," said Kyla Stone.

"I think he's a great hire. He is young but he will get all the fans back, he already has on Facebook and Twitter its crazy," said Lauren Linecum.

These fans at Nick's Sports Bar think the future of Red Raider football is bright with new coach Kliff Kingsbury at the helm.

"I was actually a freshman at Tech whenever Kingsbury was playing his senior year. And I just remember the excitement," said

"It will take a few years but I think in the long-run it will be a great program again," said Linecum.

Some even have some pretty lofty expectations.

"Three or four years from now when Michael Brewer is a junior or a senior it will be at least a nine win season so yeah I think so. Big 12 championships 4 years away yeah," said David Floyd.

We even found a few Aggies that are excited about the Kingsbury move.

"Being a good hire here in Lubbock, I'm actually excited for Tech I think it will be a great thing. Unify the fan base and bring a lot of excitement to the next football season," said Aggie Ben Weatherly.

"Sad to see him go, I think he did a great job with Manziel and everyone there. I think that he could have done more with more quarterbacks," said Danny Smith.

One of the fans we spoke with thinks this new hire will actually energize the team for their bowl game December 28th.
