"It's awesome," Waller said. "It's great, there is probably a thousand or more in here and they are coming in fast."

Red Raiders came together Friday morning as Texas Tech officially announced Kliff Kingsbury as the new head football coach.

"I am very excited," Jared said. "Kingsbury seems very enthusiastic about bringing the swagger back to Texas Tech which has been missing the past couple of years."

Fans came together today to share the memories they have of when Kliff was a quarterback at Tech.

"I was 13 years old," Jared said. "I had a Kingsbury Big Time jersey and I was so excited on Wednesday night, I got to pull that jersey back out and put it back on and just be very excited that Kingsbury is back."

"When I was a senior in high school he was the quarterback here at Texas Tech," Kimberlin said. "So that's the guy that I looked up to, so it's cool to see him come and see him coach."

"He was great," Waller said. "He is probably the toughest quarterback we ever had."

But Andy Waller's sister Katie had another reason for coming.

"I am not that big of a football fan but I will be when he is our head coach," Katie said. "That is all I am saying."

Others said they tried to get an autograph of the young coach, some were old friends coming to say hi.

"He lived across the street from my boyfriend," Rosalie said. "He was the nicest, sweetest, great guy. Tech made the best decision they could. So happy to have him back in town."

No matter why fans came out--one thing is certain....they were all here to show their support.

"That is why we are here," Kimberlin said. "To show him that we support him and were behind him one hundred percent."
