Kliff Kingsbury wasn't the only candidate for the vacancy left by Tommy Tuberville. Texas Tech alum and former assistant Art Briles was also in the mix.

Briles was an assistant from 2000-2002, getting the chance to coach Kingsbury.

And their familiarity makes him proud of the former quarterback.

How about lightening up on this Kingsbury thing and let him get on with the [censored]. If he flops, you guys are going to look pretty stupid. Besides, it is basketball season and I am sure those coaches could use some support.
