Members of City Council echoed their support for the ban at the City Council meeting on Monday night.

The health department and city attorneys are working together to come up with a resolution to pull the drugs off the shelves.

City Councilwoman Karen Gibson said although they are trying to come up with something immediately to "stop the bleeding," they are doing it slowly to come up with the right law.  She said it's hard to do because the vendors stay one step ahead of the laws and Lubbock resident Bill Curnow agrees.

"You ban it in one form and a week later it comes out in a slightly different form that's suddenly legal," said Curnow.  "That's very difficult to legislate against.  So I'm very, very appreciate that the council has taken the time to study the issue and to do it right."

City Council hopes to have some sort of ban by their next meeting on January 10th
