17-year-old Nathan Sproles' mother is wondering how he could be arrested and charged with murder, when she said he was at her home the night 34-year-old Mark Morris was shot.
Not only that she says the two were like brothers, and Nathan would never do that.
"Nathan and him were so close," Jance Cagle said crying.
She said she's grieving for her son-in-law, Morris, but also for her son, who is one of three teenagers charged with the crime.
"It's hard because when I thought I had time to start grieving for Mark that's when they came and arrested Nathan," said Cagle.
Morris is the father to three of Cagle's grandchildren and said he was a good man.
"Mark was like family to us," she said. "he was a son to us."
Cagle said Morris was at a friend's house when he was shot on Sunday night.
"Mark, oh god, supposedly was moving and they shot him in the back," she said crying.
Morris died shortly after arriving at the hospital and sometime later Sproles was arrested along with 17-year-old Zacorey Price and a 15 year old.
"Christmas is coming, I wont have either one of my sons," said Cagle.
She said she knows someone out there
knows what happened that night and begs them to tell the truth.
"It's awful, we just need for the truth to come out," she said, "tell the police what happened, tell them who all was there."
Cagle said she went to visit Nathan
in jail and says he's very upset about Morris' death
Lubbock police said the case is still under investigation.
