Reports: Mike Smith To Be Tech's Co-Defensive Coordinator

According to numerous reports another former Red Raider is headed home to join Kliff Kingsbury's coaching staff.

The New York Jet's outside linebacker's coach, Mike Smith, is making the switch to college ball to become the co-defensive coordinator at Texas Tech. Smith is from Lubbock where he graduated from Coronado High School before going on to play for Texas Tech alongside Kingsbury.

Smith mentioned on his Facebook page "Coming home red raider nation." An announcement is expected to be made sometime after tech's bowl game this Friday.
