Blake Ball and his daughter Rielyn are ready to start their grocery shopping, all thanks to "Caroline's Cart" a cart built just for special needs children like Rielyn.

"She needs special attention and whenever you would come in its hard to push around her stroller that has the 5 point system that helps her sit up and shop at the same time, so with that difficulty what do you do" said Ball.

The Ball family reached out to United about a month ago, but didn't expect the response they got.

"We were fully prepared to help with the cart, you know find it, see if there were any grants available but to have them turn around and have three on hand without any question at the different locations we possibly might shop at is a huge blessing," he said.

Now they want to let other families know about these carts.

"Now that it is provided and we can educate each other on it. I think they will get a lot more use out of it now that we are getting the word out that it is here," said Ball.

Director of Communications for United Supermarkets Eddie Owens said they were happy to make the Ball Family's shopping experience more convenient.

"That's what it is really all about for us. We want to make that a family experience if at all possible especially in those circumstances so its really a small thing for us to be able to do," said Owens.

Ball said Rielyn loves the colors and sounds of grocery shopping, and he's so grateful to have these carts.

"Its real easy for them to look at one family and a shopping cart that is, I dont know how much they are, but nothing special needs equipment wise is ever cheap, but to have a company like this in Lubbock that goes above and beyond to provide for one family, much less the other families out there that can use it, simply us on our one phone call, speaks volumes of the character that this company has. And we want to say thank you so very much," said Ball.
