The 54th Annual Caprock Classic kicked off Thursday morning. It's the largest tournament in the country with 86 teams coming to Lubbock for this tournament. Teams have come from all across the state as far South as Houston, West as El Paso, East as Rockwall and as North as Perryton.

Apart from hoops the economic boost is immense. Lubbock Sports estimates that the tournament brings around 3,400 hotel room nights each year and last year a study conducted by tournament officials shows the economic impact was over $2.5 million. The money raised goes to help support people with disabilities and you can learn more about that at www.caprockclassic.com

Tickets can also be purchased at www.caprockclassic.com.
