Updated: December 28, 2012

New developments in the case involving a man who ran out of his burning house last week, leaving his dead wife inside.

The death of 34 year old Denise Alozo is under investigation and her husband has been released from the hospital.

Police took him to the Lubbock County jail on the morning of December 21st.

But he is not in jail for her death, he has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Police reports state the man was under investigation for sexually assaulting a child under the age of 14.

The report states the abuse had been going on for more than seven years.

The man denied all charges of sexual assault and was scheduled to take a lie detector test the morning of December 18th at 10 am, the same morning of his wife's death.

The man has a history of violence and drug abuse.

He spent two years in prison for possession of drugs and deadly conduct.

The funeral of Denise Alonzo was scheduled for Friday afternoon.

She leaves behind three children.

They have been living with their aunt and uncle since October 19th.

Lubbock Police Department is investigating both cases.

For now the man remains in police custody and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
