City Budget Approved

The Lubbock City Council approved the 2008-2009 budget.
Tax payers will see a decrease amounting to roughly $8 in savings over the next fiscal year on a home appraised at $100,000.
The approval passed 5-2.
Both council members Floyd Price and Linda DeLeon believe the extra funds could have been used to give employees a pay raise and keep service fees from increasing.
City employees will not see a pay raise this year. They will, however, receive a $500 stipend.
