It started at 11:40 when a man carjacked a woman at 34th and Quaker at the "Twice the Ice" water station. Witnesses say an elderly woman was buying water just feet away from her car when the suspect stole it.

David Brian Stans who works at the gas station next to "Twice the Ice" says their delivery man saw it all.

"He heard a lady yelling for help, as he looked behind him there was a black assailant trying got hijack a car from like a grandmother type lady that was getting water at Twice the Ice," said Stans.

A few minutes later, police found the stolen RAV 4 on Salem street and they followed him southbound.

The suspect reached 50th and Slide where the he hit Carolyn Travis's car, who had slowed down to let police go by. She was not injured.

"He was going really fast because he ran the red light and he was trying to get away from the police," said Travis.

The suspect lost a wheel ending the car chase near 38th and Slide and starting a foot chase with police.

EMS treated the victim Elizabeth Turner at the scene of the carjacking and took her to Covenant Hospital. She has since been released and says she is doing okay.

The suspect is a 14-year-old boy who will face aggravated robbery charges, among others.
