False Alarm Leads to Investigation of Possible Prison Escape at Montford Unit

Authorities determine a prison escape did not happen at the Montford Prison Unit Thursday afternoon. According to a police alert a prisoner from the Montford Unit may have escaped just after 2 this afternoon. The alert described the prisoner as a man driving a passenger car with the license plates 620RSN. According to the Lubbock Sheriff's Office the alert was issued after a caller who witnessed a man near the prison jump into a car and drive off. After a head count at the unit officials determined no one escaped from the facility.
