Lubbock Police responded to a call about a dead body inside a house in the 900 block of 32nd Street.

Originally, police, fire and EMS were all dispatched to the scene but first responders were quickly waved off as LPD launched a homicide investigation.

So far, police are releasing little information, only saying a family member came to the home and found a dead man inside.

Neighbors tell us an elderly man in his mid-to-late 70s lived at the house with two pit bulls. Neighbors also say he man's wife died on Christmas Eve.

Homicide detectives spent hours scouring the scene for evidence, even bringing out the mobile command unit to allow officers to escape the cold.

Police have not released the deceased man's identity, nor said why officers think the death is suspicious.
