LPD Investigate Possible Homicide in Central Lubbock, Body in Burning Home in S. Lubbock

Just after 2 p.m. Friday, Lubbock Police were called to the 900 block of 32nd Street for a dead body.

Then, the Homicide Detectives were called to the scene, and investigator's spent the afternoon and part of the evening gathering information there.

Police have not released any information about the deceased, but neighbor's say an elderly man in his mid 70's lived in the home.

Lupe Dominguez lives just across the street from the home where Police were investigating, said she was shocked to come home to police activity. "I came home from visiting my daughter and all I see is a bunch of cops and a lot of cars," said Dominguez  "Just different people running around back and forth." 

Then, around 8 p.m. Friday, the Lubbock Fire Department was called to the 2100 block of 82nd Street for a fire in an apartment.

When crews arrived on scene, they saw smoke pouring from a window in the apartment.  When they went inside, they discovered the body.

Police have not released the identity, but neighbor's tell KLBK an elderly woman lived in the apartment.
