Crosbyton authorities issued that nation wide Amber Alert around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 8th, for 2-year-old Leah Marie Aguirre.
Authorities in Crosbyton tell KLBK News, she's been missing for several days now, but they didn't discover that until January 8th.
"This individual told us that she had recently been approached at her residence on January 3rd of this year by an individual who claimed to be an agent with the children's protective services.
Crosbyton Chief of Police Greg Parrott said the man posing as a Child Protective Service's worker is now being looked for nation wide for abducting 2-year-old Leah Marie Aguirre who has black hair, brown eyes and weighs about 30 pounds.
Chief Parrott said her abductor is described as a Hispanic male, in his late 40's to early 50's, thin build, approximately 5'4" to 5'"6, clean cut, going by the name of Miguel.
That man, told little Leah's care givers he was there under CPS to take full custody and control of the baby.
The two were last seen in Crosbyton in a red car similar to a Ford Focus with dark tinted windows.
"He put the baby in the vehicle and then left the scene," said Parrott.
Five days later on January 8th, actual CPS case workers contacted Leah's care givers asking about the baby and following up on medical work.
"It was learned at that time, that the individual that approached our resident here and took baby Aguirre was in fact not part of CPS," said Parrott.
The F.B.I., and Texas Rangers along with Missing and Exploited Children are assisting Crosbyton authorities to bring Baby Aguirre home, but they are asking for your help as well.
If you have any information, or have seen the description of the red car call 806-675-7302.
