Last week's flooding also destroyed the South Plains Food Bank Farm in South Lubbock.

These pictures show how the rain turned the five acre property into swamp-land and ruined nearly 9,000 pounds of fresh vegetables.  The water flooded in from a nearby playa lake and contained human and animal waste, dead animals, and other garbage that contaminated everything on the farm. Roy Riddle has run the farm since 1990.  He says they won't be able to grow anything there until the beginning of next year.

If you're interested in helping the farm recover you can donate your time or money by calling Meagan at the Food Bank at 763-3003.
