Demand For Ammo Continues to Rise

At Sharp Shooters the shelves aren't empty yet, but they say they have been swamped with people trying to get their hands on as much ammo as they can.

"It's been crazy," said Thomas Truesdell of Sharp Shooters.

Tons of Americans are up in arms after President Obama signed 23 executive orders on gun safety leaving gun stores like Sharp Shooters struggling to keep up with the demand of guns and ammunition.

"We've actually had to put limits on ammo limiting all the ammo to two boxes a person just so everyone can have some," said Truesdell.

He said this hasn't left many customers happy.

"It's making people mad," he said, "the prices are making people mad."

"We've had to raise prices; we can't replace the stuff that we are selling."

Customers like Matthew Barns say the whole thing is ridiculous.

"It's all outrageous to me about how they think Obama's going to ban everything, its not like can do that he still has to go through the House and all that," said Barns.

Truesdell said all this talk about gun control has several of his customers fearing the future.

"I don't think what's going on is good by any means," said Truesdell, "I don't support any gun legislation whatsoever."

He said he doesn't have the answers, but he does know the manufacturers are taking drastic steps to produce the ammunition faster.

"We're hoping to be caught up in the next month to two months hopefully the supply will be caught up with the demand," said Truesdell.

President Obama has proposed law changes that include the capping of magazines to a 10-round limit, as well as banning the online selling of ammo.
