City Leaders Working to Fill Void in Mayor's Absence

City leaders held a press conference Wednesday afternoon to assure citizens that its business as usual at City Hall. 

Mayor Pro Tem Karen Gibson said she's ready to fulfill the role as mayor until Robertson is able to return. 

"First I would like to ask for your continued prayers for Mayor Robertson and his family," said Gibson.  "As far as city council business is concerned, everything will continue as normal.  The city council will continue to act in the best interest of this city and you, its citizens."

Gibson said she hopes to meet with the mayor before next week's council meeting to discuss his thoughts on the agenda including the controversial issue of synthetic marijuana.

Gibson said right now, the most important thing is for Robertson to focus on his recovery.
