The Harral Auditoriam at Wayland Baptist University was filled with people bowing their heads, raising their hands, and praying for an answer during this time of need.  Those who attended said they were looking for guidence and comfort from their community and God.

"We've learned to care about not what the world is bringing us but what God has in store for us," said Leonel Aragon, one of the thousands of Cargill employees who was laid off.

Although Leonel lost his job, he said he didn't attend the event for himself. He attended to help all of the people who are still distressed over the closing of Cargill find strength.

"At first they took it hard but me being able to minister them they've seen the light of the darkness.  God's real and he's not going to fail you," said Aragon. "You've got to trust in him no matter what circumstances are."

The vigil included singing, praying, and even cheering as everyone in the auditorium tried to keep a positive attitude over the dark cloud that was placed over the city.

"It's going to be a real unstable time I think for a while," said Danny Andrews, the Director of Alumni Development at Wayland Baptist."But we'll see how things play out. We're just praying that God's giong to give us some new opportunities here."

Cargill Plant is scheduled to close on February 1st.
