One woman is dead and her two children in the hospital after the pickup truck they were riding in swerved off the road on CR 7900 Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the wreck on CR 7900, just off Highway 87, around 5:50 Friday afternoon.

When they arrived, they found the driver of the pickup truck had been ejected from the car.

The driver, 37-year-old San Juana Hernandez of Lubbock, was pronounced dead on scene.

Troopers say the woman and her two sons--ages 14 and 8 months old--were driving down the road when their car swerved into a ditch. That's when, troopers say, Hernandez over corrected and flipped the car.

Hernandez' two sons were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The speed limit on CR 7900 is 60 mph.
