Overnight Car Accident Knocks Out Power To At Least One West Lubbock Neighborhood

A one vehicle accident near 82nd and Frankford, knocked out power for at least one West Lubbock neighborhood.

It happened around 3:00 Tuesday morning.

The driver of a pick-up truck hit a power pole on the south side of 82nd Street, in front of a shopping plaza.

Power lines surrounded the truck and EMS transported the driver to the hospital.

No word on the extent of the driver's injuries.

At the time of the accident, it was not raining or sleeting.

The outage effected some South Plains Electric Cooperative (SPEC) customers. LP&L had no electric outages.
