1. NKorea Says it Has Conducted a Nuclear Test

North Korea says it has successfully conducted its third underground nuclear test. In an overnight statement, President Obama said the United States will do whatever it takes to defend ourselves and U.S. allies.

2. Video of Christopher Dorner Reportedly Spotted

Gossip website TMZ has obtained surveillance video of a man who looks like fugitive ex-cop Christopher Dorner. In the video the man is buying scuba gear, reportedly two days before the killings.

3. Conclave to Elect a New Pope Set for March

Following the announcement of the Pope's resignation, the conclave to elect a new pontiff will begin in late March. There are 117 cardinals eligible to vote for the new pontiff from roughly 50 different countries.

4. Post-Storm Roof Collapses Plaguing Northeast

Communities in the Northeast are dealing with roof collapses following last week's massive winter storm. Connecticut Gov. Dannell Malloy said there have been 16 reports of roof collapses in the state.

5. Contest to Name Pluto's 2 Moons Announced

Astronomers announced a contest on Monday to name Pluto's two moons, which were discovered over the past two years. Right now, the moons go by the titles P4 and P5.
