Smokehead shops across the South Plains are throwing huge blow out sales to try and make as much of a profit as they can off now illegal synthetic marijuana.
Local shops have 26 days left to sell their synthetic marijuana inventory.
Besides the signs and posters up around the store informing buyers of their 60% sale, smoke shops are using radio commercials to advertise as well, trying to make a profit off the drugs before it's too late.
Shops tell KAMC News the advertising seems to be working because they've seen a huge influx in customers over the past several days and the drugs are flying off the shelves.
"It's helping us get rid of it, we actually don't have that much left," said Smokehead Shop employee, Neil Sinclair. "But the point is, is we are trying to get it off the shelf to respect what the ordinance and city council put into place, so we have 30 days to do it and we just want to get rid of our inventory."
Sinclair said this ban will not affect their overall business since synthetic pot only makes up about 10% of their profits.
