Estacado High School Girls Make Wrestling History at Their School

Douglas, Estacado High School Assistant Wrestling Coach, said he doesn't take
it easy on the girls team.
"Practices are very rigorous and intense. We treat them the same way we treat the young men and we force them to do the same techniques and maneuvers that they do. And we try to create a scenario that looks the same as being in the actual competition. So if we can create that type of environment then it helps them grow as wrestlers."
Coach Douglas even dyed his hair and beard blue and part of a wager against the girl's team that he would dye his hair if they made it to state.

Also heading to State this year is Kristina Dean from Coranado High School who placed 4th at Regionals.
