Updated: February 26, 2013
Texas Tech student Austin Hasten has been indicted in the murder of his neighbor, Michelle Terry.

Terry was found dead in her south Lubbock apartment when firefighters responded to a call of smoke coming from her apartment.

Hasten lived just two doors down from Terry.

When Hasten returned to the scene, about 45 minutes after fire crews arrived, he attacked a police officer and tried to steal his gun.

So far, Hasten has only been indicted on the murder charge and not with arson or assault on a police officer.
