The police chase and manhunt ended early Wednesday morning when Slaton PD arrested 30 year old Roberto Rivera at a home in the 2300 Block of 49th Street.

The chase started as a routine traffic stop in Slaton, when the driver, Shelly Blair took off, speeding 95 miles per hour down Woodrow Road.  During the chase, Rivera shot at police.  No one was injured.

Blair ditched the car in a field on Woodrow Rd. and was arrested on scene by Slaton PD for evading arrest.

Rivera took off on foot. Slaton PD, DPS, and the Lubbock Sheriff's Office spent two hours searching the area around the field for Rivera, even bringing in K-9 units and the DPS helicopter.

Slaton PD then arrested Rivera at a home on 49th Street around 1 a.m.

Rivera faces charges of evading arrest, a fugitive from justice, and felon in possession of a firearm.

The two are still being held in Slaton, as the investigation is ongoing and Rivera still has a warrant out.

Both have criminal histories.  River has a history of tampering with evidence, reckless driving, unauthorized use of a vehicle, tampering with government records, possession of marijuana, kidnapping, theft, and burglary.

Blair has a history of fraud, theft, and forgery of a financial institution.
