This is Smyer's third appearance in the state tournament in the last four years.
In the first, it was 2-0 Smyer when Kennedy Farr took it to another level, scoring eight in a row for the Lady Cats as they led 10-2 at the end of the first.
But then Jordan Locke made her presence felt early and often as well. She added a layup to push the lead to 14-5 and the Lady Cats would lead 24-9 at the half.
But in the third with Kennedy Farr on the bench with foul trouble, the lady Stallions would make a run. Keesha Bracy, cut Smyers lead to six with the bucket and the foul.
Still with Farr on the bench, Locke picked up the slack getting the lead back to eight to end the third.
In the fourth, Dallas Academy would get the lead down to four with Imari Bell bucket. But Farr would come back in the game and Smyer would not be stopped as the Lady Cats are on to the State Championship with the 40-36 win.
