1. Another Insurance Carrier to File Suit Against Lance Armstrong

ABC News has learned that an insurance carrier has decided to file suit against Lance Armstrong for three million dollars, plus damages. The Nebraska company, Acceptance Insurance, covered the bonuses on Armstrong's Tour de France wins from 1999 to 2001.

2. Brush Fire Breaks Out in California

A brush fire broke out near homes in Jurupa Valley, California on Thursday, prompting evacuations and leaving about 2,000 people without power. Winds have died down but at least 75 acres have burned.

3. Chavez Death Rumors Swirl Online

Twitter lit up Thursday with rumors Thursday that Hugo Chavez has died or that he has been brain dead since December. Guillermo Cochez, the former Panamanian Ambassador to the Organization of American States, told CNN that Chavez has been dead for four days. Chavez is being kept under heavy guard on the top floor of a military hospital in Venezuela.

4. Market Edges Toward Record High

The stock market pushed toward a record high on Thursday, coming in within 15 points of breaking the October 2007 record. It ultimately lost steam and the Dow and other indexes broke their two-day climb.

5. Groupon Axes CEO

Struggling online deals pioneer Groupon says it has pushed its CEO Andrew Mason out and will look for a new leader of the company. The announcement came Thursday after the company reported major losses and gave a bleak outlook for the current quarter.
