Its become a tradition for Smyer to make the state basketball tournament. The Lady Bobcats have won two of the last three and both of their victories came over Martins Mill.

As fate would have it, Doug Barncastle - Jordan Barncastles dad - and Martins Mill were waiting in the final this season.

Smyer hopped out to a lead via some nifty inside play from Kennedy Far and took an 11-point lead into the fourth quarter. Thats when things began unraveling.

Martins Mill made an improbable run to tie things up at 46. Then, with less than 15 seconds to play, Hailey Jenkins hit a shot that rimmed in to give them the lead.

As they stopped Smyers undefeated state tournament streak, beating them, 49-46.
