Texas Adds 310,900 Jobs Over The Year

More than 300,000 jobs were added in Texas last year.

More than 10,000 were added in January alone.

According to the Texas Workforce Commission, Lubbock's unemployment rate in January was at 5.5 percent, that's down from 6 percent a year ago.

Midland reported the lowest unemployment rate, at 3.4 percent.

The highest unemployment rate was reported in McAllen-Edinburg-Misson, at 11.6 percent.
