The Idalou Wildcats made the trip to Austin yet again for the State Basketball tournament this year, making their 4th trip and 4 years, trying to bring home another state title to Idalou.
Idalou was quite comfortable inside the drum, with notable alum Josh Abbot looking on.
But they got down 11-4 heading to the second, But they bounced back nicely as Alan Zahn got the hoop and the harm, Wildcats trailed,15-12.
Then Idalou taking the lead back, as Seth Reagan the smooth lefty, drained the 3-ball, and its 19-17 Wildcats.
More from Regan in transition, as Alan Zahn missed, but Reagan cleaned it up, and Coach Helms was fired up, it was 25-19 Idalou at the half.
In the 4th, Brock came back to take a 5-point lead in the 4th, as Lane Southern made the nice bounce pass to Dylan Carrigan mad a flailing, spinning, lay-up, making it 47-40 Brock.
Later with Brock leading 47-43, Idalou would not go away. Koal Houchin missed, but got his own rebound, and the circus putback, made it 47-45.
Brock was clutch late, as Bailey Cockburn made the drive and got fouled but hits it, making it 50-45.
Idalou had one last ditch effort with under 10 to play. Idalou was down 6, when Houchin hit a 3, but there was just not enough time as the Wildcats fall in the State Semis to Brock 56-51.
