Sabrina Robbins with Catholic Charities in Lubbock said she kept her eye on the chimney over the last two days waiting to see who would be the new Pope.

Wednesday, after seeing the black smoke rise, she said it was her sister, who alerted her to make sure she turned on a T.V. after white smoke began pouring out around 1 p.m. here in Lubbock.

Robbins said she's excited to see what kind of emphasis Pope Francis I puts on social work, and to see how his role as the first Jesuit Pope plays into what he does.

"He knelt and asked for us to pray for him, and I thought. 'he's just a very humble person' and I think he will be able to engage some of the younger people and the younger kids," said Robbins.

"It's a very exciting time to be Catholic and it's a very exciting time for all of us," said Robbins.

She also said this is an exciting experience, not only for Catholics across the world, but for others as well.

Robbins admitted she doesn't know a lot about the new Pope just yet, but said she's eager to learn more in the next coming days.
