The South Plains Youth Job Fair put over 30 employers in one place making it easy for teens to apply and also helping out parents who may have to drive them to different job interviews.
The businesses at the South Plains Youth Job Fair are mostly looking for part-time and summer workers but there are some looking for full time employees as well.
The starting age for the job fair is 16 but it goes all the way up to 21. Danny Soliz, Workforce Solutions Director of Business Development, said some of the businesses at the job fair have full time positions that can lead to other positions in the company and possibly a full time career.
"Also it may help young adults to find a career path because not all of them will go to a university or a college somewhere and, you know, go straight into the work force."
Soliz said to wear professional attire and bring a resume if you have one but a good attitude is the most important thing you can bring with you.
"You know the first impression goes a long way because you're meeting with human resource recruiters that will be there from the different businesses."
The South Plains Youth Job Fair is from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
