Town Comes Together at Fundraiser for Family of Go-Kart Victim

"It's family members, it's friends," Pacheco said. "Here in a few minutes it will probably be the whole community."
This town is not just asking for donations, they are working for them.
"We're just coming out here raising some money for him to pay for his funeral," Pacheco said. "All the support everything that we have out here it's great."
Casilda Pacheco and tons of other volunteers gathered at Thriftway in Idalou Saturday for a car wash to raise money for her cousin, 8 year old Elijah Urrutia.
Elijah was killed Thursday afternoon after the Go-Kart he was riding in, flipped on a dirt road-rolling several times.
"Idalou is just a blessing," Pacheco said.
"That is what we do in times of tragedy,"

While Lupe Rodriguez waited for his Suburban to get clean, he told me a little bit about Elijah.
"He is a real cheerful boy," Rodriguez said. "Always excited, always had energy. Plays baseball and his dad coaches him."
Now a family trying to cope with this tragedy thanks the community for all of their support.
"I
just want to say thank you so much everybody," Pacheco said. "It's been a
blessing. Elijah knows that everybody that y'all love him. And he is an angel.
