Austin Doctor Offers March Madness Vasectomies

AUSTIN (CNN) - Guys looking for an excuse to sit around and watch the March Madness championship game can get one from a Texas doctor.

For the fourth year in a row, The Urology Team in Austin is handing out vouchers for men who get a vasectomy there.

The voucher is good for two to three days of doctor's orders to sit on the couch and recover, all while watching some basketball.

"I do about 650 vasectomies a year. That comes out to about 50 a month or so for me," Dr. Richard Chopp said. "It's extremely important that they need to be a couch potato for 48 hours. And the reason for that is they get too active they can have bleeding."

The voucher lists the cost of the procedure plus consultation at $595.

The Urology Team said it also offers a similar deal for the Masters.
