The second week of circulation for the alcohol sales petition in Lubbock is winding down and now the political action committee, battling against the effort, has announced they've reorganized. Members of the organization 'Let Lubbock Vote' are reporting a higher turnout than anticipated with their petition to get alcohol sales to a vote in Lubbock. The Truth About Alcohol Sales, or TAAS, is a group of local citizens trying to fight against that issue.

If alcohol sales gets on the ballot in May, TAAS officals say their goal is to educate citizens to make an informed vote. A supporter of the group says she believes there will be detrimental effects if the city were to go 'wet.'

"I think people should stop and think what is a child's mind worth.  What is a child's health worth.  Are we going to sell it down the road for a few dollars of alcohol?" Joyce Kenner says.

Petition organizers say they still don't have a confirmed number of signatures because they all must go through a validation process.
