With the stock market at record lows, families are finding it hard to finance big purchases right now. Car dealers say the economic troubles haven't slowed down sales here in the Hub City. When it comes to buying a vehicle for your family, dealers say finding the financing for that vehicle is certainly possible, just a little different than in years past.

"You hear all this publicity on the national news about nobody able to get financed, and really what has happened is that they've tightened up on their conditions. Now we may need a pay stub from you, we may want tax, title and license down, they may want to finance it for less of a term," says Shamrock Chevrolet owner Tommy Stallings.

Smaller car dealerships in Lubbock are also having to alter the way they finance families. Dealerships that are able to provide financing have seen a spike in sales, with more families asking for their help in tough times.
